Maternity Plus Size Fashion

Ok as an expectant mom I still like to keep my fashion sense going and it has been difficult to navigate through the world of plus size maternity fashion. Lets just say I have had several trips to the post office to return items I've ordered. I'd like to share my opinion about some of the options I have tried and perhaps save you some returns.

JCPenney -
Ok I have not bought anything from there in years. Not usually the first destination for a fashionista. Buy I am loving their maternity option! One of my favs so far. I never would have though to look there but saw it as a frequently mentioned source on the plus size pregnancy subforums online. I have purchased several tops which are stylish and comfortable and after an excruciating search for jeans by various brands JCPenney Duo Maternity jeans are my favorite. I tried Motherhood Maternity and Tomorrow's Mother Jeans also and either they had a poor fit or looked like mom jeans that I would never step out of the house in. The JCPenney Duo Maternity jeans are of nice quality and are modern looking for fashionistas that don't want to sacrifice style.

Silhouettes.com -
Ok they do not sell maternity clothing but after ordering some tops in my normal size 2x that were already styled to hide a big tummy (fitted under breast and flowy from there down) I found quite a few that will work great throughout the pregnancy even into humongous stages...some are actually way too big in the tummy right now at 20 weeks but I plan to use thim in the 3rd trimester. I have about 4 shirts from there so far and I can wear them after pregnancy as well.

Gap Maternity -
I was an 18 shirt prepregnancy and so far the work shirts I ordered from Gap Maternity in XXL were a lil too snug for my tastes. The arms were too snug and belly room was fine for 19 weeks or less but I didn't see much room to accommodate larger belly stages. If the arms were larger this would have been a nice top for a non-pregnant size 18 to 20 woman but not a pregnant one.

Liz Lange-
So far the work shirts haven't worked for me by this brand either. Too snug of a fit to get through the 2nd half of pregnancy. I do have a swimsuit and some maxi dresses and knit tops I like though by Liz Lange.

Motherhood Maternity-
the best non-knit work/career blouses for me so far...I found most of mine on ebay thusfar but I watch the website to see if there is anything else I like. I tried their jeans but haven't liked any I tried so far...they look like mom jeans...ugh!

Lane Bryant -
At 20 weeks I am still in my stretch knit pants/slacks from Lane Bryant that I already owned before pregnancy. If I start to grow out of them I may go to LB and buy more in a larger size. The Right Fit pants have been great.

Bare Necessities -
Most of my bras are from here so far; I order a few with larger cup sizes for me to grow into and some nursing style bras that are soft enough to sleep in for support

Old Navy -
I have some regular XXL knit tops and maxi dresses from there that have worked great so far and I think will last throughout the pregnancy

Macys -
I have found some regular non-maternity plus size tops by Alfani Woman that look like that will work until the very last couple of months

Etsy -
check out sellers here if you want your own maternity gown and/or robe for the hospital in lieu of what they provide to you in the hospital...I found a couple of sellers that make these in plus sizes and I plan to get one or two...I hear they are also useful upon your return home while you recover and nurse. I also plan to walk around as much as I can so I don't want the flimsy hospital version to walk the halls in.
